Alleluia, Christ is Risen!
While the rest of the world gets back to normal, the chocolate eggs have long since been eaten and Easter is well and truly forgotten, here in church we are still well and truly celebrating the risen Christ. On Sunday we continued to think about resurrection appearances and in particular Jesus’ appearances to some of the disciples on the road to Emmaus. Matthew encouraged us to think about the ways that we might encounter Jesus; through fellowship with one another, through sharing Holy Communion and through reading the Bible together.
As we continue to look at further resurrection appearances over the next few weeks, my hope is that we see the immense love and kindness of Jesus as he comes to people in a variety of ways and shows himself to truly be alive. As we reflect on his love and kindness to the first disciples may we also come to realise afresh His love and kindness to us and those we encounter.
Have a great rest of the week whatever you might have planned and I look forward to seeing you for our All Together Service on Sunday.
P.S. Don’t forget to bring something if you can to share for our meal together after the service.
