We look forward to Jess joining us next week after her ordination this Sunday. Here are a few words from Jess and a picture too.
Introducing the Davis family…
Hi, I’m Jess and I’ll be joining you in July as your new curate. I am married to Simon and we have two children, Luke and Emma. For the past three years I have been training at St Mellitus College in Liverpool and working in North Manchester at St Peter’s, St Paul’s and St Andrew’s Churches in Blackley. My passion is to help people of all ages, abilities and stages in faith (or no faith at all) encounter Jesus and flourish as the people God made them to be.
I enjoy various crafts and am always up for trying my hand at something new - I am a definite jack of all trades and master of none! On a quiet night in or out at the cinema, I enjoy watching really awful disaster movies, cheesy rom-coms and superhero movies. I also recently started dancing (ballroom and latin).
Simon loves sport, he will watch most sport with enthusiasm and plays a few racket sports. He really enjoys watching football and supports Man Utd. He also enjoys beer and is generally up for going out for a pint. Even more so if beer and football are combined.
Luke loves Pokemon, Minecraft and Roblox and, given the chance, I am sure he will delight in explaining all of the above to you. Luke has just learned to ride his bike and is excited about getting out and about on it, he also loves scooting and is learning to ride a skateboard.
Emma loves unicorns and cats (although we can’t have a cat because Daddy is allergic to them). In fact Emma loves all animals and is currently trying to persuade us to let her have a pet. Emma also likes the outdoors. She is learning to ride a bike and is super fast on her scooter.
We are really looking forward to coming to join you very soon.
We give give thanks for the safe delivery this week of Charlotte Fleur to Naomi and Matt. No pictures as yet, but at a healthy 9lbs(!!), we look forward to soon welcoming our youngest member to church too!
Do please continue to pray for both families, and the significant changes that both will be encountering.
