3Ps October 4

4/10/2020

Afternoon all! - well at leas there is some consistency as I send out my last 3Ps - it’s the afternoon again, but this time after another wonderful church service!

Jess will be sending out the final weeks' worth until…. radio silence, or your daily text (do contact Gordon with your mobile phone number if you want to receive these). So, in the meantime;

Keep safe
Keep in touch
Keep the faith

Simon

Pause

  • Mark this time as one set aside for God by focusing on your breathing.
  • Count to 5 as you breathe in, hold your breath for another 5, and then exhale slowly again counting to 5.
  • You might want to think about the things you want to receive from God: holding a word in your mind as you breathe in, and equally share with Him a word concerning something particular that you want to hand over and leave with Him (perhaps a worry, care, concern or failing) when you breathe out.

Ponder

‘Listen to another parable. There was a landowner who planted a vineyard, put a fence around it, dug a wine press in it, and built a watch-tower. Then he leased it to tenants and went to another country. When the harvest time had come, he sent his slaves to the tenants to collect his produce. But the tenants seized his slaves and beat one, killed another, and stoned another.  Again he sent other slaves, more than the first; and they treated them in the same way. Finally he sent his son to them, saying, “They will respect my son.”  But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, “This is the heir; come, let us kill him and get his inheritance.”  So they seized him, threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him.  Now when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?’ They said to him, ‘He will put those wretches to a miserable death, and lease the vineyard to other tenants who will give him the produce at the harvest time.’Jesus said to them, ‘Have you never read in the scriptures: “The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone;
this was the Lord’s doing, and it is amazing in our eyes”? Therefore I tell you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that produces the fruits of the kingdom. The one who falls on this stone will be broken to pieces; and it will crush anyone on whom it falls.’
When the chief priests and the Pharisees heard his parables, they realized that he was speaking about them.They wanted to arrest him, but they feared the crowds, because they regarded him as a prophet. Matthew 21:33-end

Think: Thank God, for the many chances we receive from him and for sticking with us.

Pray

“Prayer should be the key of the day and the lock of the night.” George Herbert

Pray this evening, reflecting on the good things of God that you have received from him today,

Church members: Matthew Wilson, Sharon Finn.

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen

Keep us, good Lord,
under the shadow of your mercy.
Sustain and support the anxious,
be with those who care for the sick,
and lift up all who are brought low;
that we may find comfort
knowing that nothing can separate us from your love
in Christ Jesus our Lord.
