Happy Friday everyone! We've made it to the end of another week. Why not take a moment to thank God for the things that have made you smile this week as we all stop to pause, ponder and pray.
Take a moment now to recognise that you are in the presence of God. It might help to slow your breathing. Take a few deep breaths in and out.
Let’s pray together:
Give us the joy of your saving help
and sustain us with your life-giving Spirit.
We say together our family prayer:
Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Today’s reading is Luke 6:39-42
He also told them a parable: “Can a blind person guide a blind person? Will not both fall into a pit? A disciple is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully qualified will be like the teacher. Why do you see the speck in your neighbor’s eye, but do not notice the log in your own eye? Or how can you say to your neighbor, ‘Friend, let me take out the speck in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your neighbor’s eye.
How do you ensure that you keep learning more from Jesus?
What areas of life do you find yourself judging others and what areas of your life might you need to attend to?
What is Jesus saying to you today?
Father God, thank you that there is always more of you to know. Show me the areas of my life where I need to change my thoughts, actions and attitudes and help me to show mercy to others. Amen
Say a prayer today for those who work in retail.
On our church list today we pray for:
Kay and Kayleigh Edwards
Let’s finish by praying this blessing:
May the almighty and merciful Lord,
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
bless us and keep us.
