3. Land and Nature
In keeping with God’s mandate to look after His creation, we recognise our responsibility for the land we have been given.

Church garden
Our church site has a small garden, which we hope will be a haven for wildlife in inner city life and increasingly help fight against the loss of biodiversity. If you had a visit you would see:
• Re-greened areas within the garden, having pulled up paving and planted a variety of grasses and plants.
• Large planters outside the front of the church filled with lavender and other bee-friendly plants to attract insects.
• Additionally, a Green Roof with 15m² of pollinator-friendly plants, growing to attract a wide variety of insects.
• A composting bin for leaf litter.
• A water harvesting system collecting water from the roof.
• Growing food; across the site there are apples, plums, raspberries, cherries, grapes, strawberries and herbs.
• On our large trees, bird nest boxes and bug hotels.
We have big dreams for other changes we can make to the space!

Collaboration
We love to work alongside local climate and biodiversity groups, such as Ardwick Climate Action, helping to improve other green spaces in the area, and raising awareness. We participate in community litter picks in the area. We also collaborate with the University of Manchester who have beehives.

Campaigns
We regularly participate in Plant to Take Away projects, particularly with young people. To encourage plant growth and insect diversity, we take part in No Mow May. We have Eco Weekends to work with other eco groups and tradespeople, encouraging changes in lifestyle.
