4. Community and Global Engagement
The climate and nature crises are profoundly unjust, with the most devastating impacts affecting the poor and vulnerable who have done the least to cause the crisis. We are called to love our neighbour, and so it is our responsibility to them and the places they live, wherever they are, to demonstrate love for people and nature by advocating for a more just world (Micah 6:8). While there is much that we can do as a church body, our impact will be even greater when we work with others to bring about local and global change.

At Brunswick we have worked on this in a number of ways, which involves publicising the issues in various forms , holding events and trying to ensure that the Climate issue permeates through everything we do as Church - some examples below:
- Our multi-cultural congregation remind us through their contacts that the Climate crisis impacts others more than ourselves here, and this leads us to supporting various campaigns, and advocating about necessary change both locally and further afield.
- We partner locally with Ardwick Climate Action.
- Two of our wider Mission Partners are Arocha and Tear Fund.
- We encourage lifestyle changes, from banking to the way we travel
- We are a Fairtrade Church and seek to provide a veggie option at our weekly Brunswick Beestro cafe meal and when we eat together as Church on our Bring & Share meals every first Sunday of the month.
- We have segregated our recycling in Church and highlight plastic free options.
- We have an Eco shop which tries to provide green products at affordable prices by buying in bulk and passing savings on.
- Our weekly 'Climate Corner' notice highlights issues and actions.
