Our Women's Footprints group made aprons from material ends and tea towels. Our youngest member models one she made with mummy. The group meets every Monday morning – new members always welcome.
Easter 2023 Services at Brunswick Church:
Did you know that this week members of Brunswick have taken children from Medlock School through ‘Experience Easter’? We have run this - and ‘Experience Christmas’ - for the last few years. 'Experience Easter' is a series of reflective workshops, specially developed for 7 to 11-year-olds in year 5 to access the Easter Story in a meaningful way. This same group of pupils also participated in 'Experience Christmas' just under 3.5 years ago when in year 2.
Here's our experienced team... Lots of fun for all at our Eco Tea last Saturday. Planting, bird-box-making, good company and of course... cake! This week our Women's Footprints group did a 'decopatch' session. They cut up small squares of thin paper and glued them to decorate a wooden box. Pretty gorgeous results as you can see in the photos. We have learned a great new skill and are happy to share it with others. I think it's important also to say how much talk was generated from a group of women sitting around a table... amazing! Women's Footprints meets every Monday morning at Positive Steps, Brunswick Church. All women are welcome. This year's International Women's Day theme is Embrace Equity. At Women's Footprints we discussed our personal understanding of the theme, shared food and music. Women's Footprints meets every Monday morning at Positive Steps, Brunswick Church. All women are welcome. Congratulations to Ardwick Climate Action for winning the Be Proud Award for Taking Neighbourhood Climate Action. Among other things around our area they were the instigators of the closing of the A6 last year, supported by Brunswick Church and others. Meet them at our Eco Tea on March 18. Our Community Hub, Positive Steps, has been really busy this morning, which is just how we like it. We've had the regular toddlers play group, a free energy-saving drop-in from EnergyWorks, a delicious Chilli-con-carne lunch from the good people at Cracking Good Food, plus Warm Space and a warm welcome. @GW_energyworks @CrackingFood
Positive Steps is open every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. All welcome. Come and join us for an 'Eco Tea' on Saturday March 18, 1:30-4:30pm. All-age climate-friendly activities in and around Brunswick - seed planting, bird-box making, litter-picking (as part of the Great British Spring Clean), finishing with tea and cake together.
The Women's Footprints group have been busy again. Here are some photos from Monday's sewing session where we used old pieces of material and transformed them into these lovely bags. Women's Footprints meets every Monday morning and new members are always welcome. |
