Our Annual General Meeting this year will be on Sunday 30 May during the Morning Service and using Zoom.
THIS YEAR IT’S A LITTLE DIFFERENT – READ ON!
We won’t be having the normal booklet as our last AGM was only 6 months ago, but if you do have any photos or memories of the past year plus let Paul Keeble have them.
The Minutes from the 2020 AGM and AVM* can be read here.
*Annual Vestry Meeting – a sort of pre-AGM where some of the elections take place.
Elections
SO... how can you be involved?
You can:
Our Annual General Meeting this year will be on Sunday 30 May during the Morning Service and using Zoom.
THIS YEAR IT’S A LITTLE DIFFERENT – READ ON!
- We will be electing Church Wardens, Church Council (PCC), Deputy and Assistant Wardens, Sidespeople, and Deanery Synod Reps.
- We also as a church will:
- hear reports on what happened to money that went through our accounts last year.
- read and comment on the official summary of church life in 2020.
- Safeguarding.
We won’t be having the normal booklet as our last AGM was only 6 months ago, but if you do have any photos or memories of the past year plus let Paul Keeble have them.

Elections
- Church Wardens have a legally responsible position within the Church of England, especially for the fabric of the Church. If you would like to know more about these posts have a chat with Simon or Tim.
- PCC or Church Council meets about 8 or 9 times a year to hear reports from sub-groups, discuss events and situations affecting the Church, and decide about church strategy, policy and direction. Along with Simon, Jess and Wardens they make decisions on what the Church should be doing in activity, money and with the buildings. Want to know more? Ask a current PCC member. Gordon (PCC Secretary) can point them out to you.
- Deputy and Assistant Wardens are people who take responsibility for making our Sunday morning worship happen- arrive a bit earlier than normal, put out what’s needed, stand at the back, greet people and then help with anything that needs organising or tidying up at the end. Speak to Tim if you want to know more
- Sidespeople/Welcome Team arrive a bit early, greet people as they arrive and make them feel welcome. This important job is open to everyone – why not volunteer for it once a month? Have a word with Judith Keeble.
