A Church Community Garden - and new green spaces
Part of our Refurb project is about creating a garden in the area between the worship room and the Rectory. In March 2021 this area became enclosed with fencing from the new Extra Care Facility (called Brunswick Village). They have a lovely garden for residents and visitors, but our space was looking very tired in comparison. But over the last two years it has slowly been transformed into a garden for church and community use. People, including an ex-member (who only happens to be a Landscape Gardener!) have been generous with their time to paint and rebuild, we’ve had donations of plants from local gardens, and with some careful reuse of a mural and some turf it has enabled us to create a welcoming garden. Worries about misuse haven’t been founded, so we can now keep furniture and toys there – most of which have been sourced second hand. Sunday school and some of our midweek activities are held outside weather permitting.
We have plans and ideas and always welcome more – to give us yours, or offer to help, please click here, download a poster here, or speak to anyone. For more information about the garden, please send an email. Or speak to anyone.
