For the last 6 weeks we have had John, a student vicar, on placement with us from Westcott House. He has been visiting, leading, preaching, and even helped with Joel's baptism last Sunday. Here is his farewell to us:
Dear All,
I would like to thank you for offering me such a warm welcome during my placement at Brunswick Church. As I said on Sunday, one of the most striking features for me about your church community, is the desire to put into action the love of God in our world for others. This I summed up as The Golden Rule of Jesus, 'Do unto others as you would want done unto yourself' and this is certainly what I have witnessed in Brunswick Church since my arrival, through the welcoming of a stranger and also the desire of the church community to be active, not just on a Sunday, but throughout the week on a daily basis, helping all in, with and through Christ. It has been a joy and a great privilege to have been part of this with you, even if it was for just a short amount of time.
I am now travelling back on the train to Cambridge as I write this and will carry with me many happy memories of my time with you. It really has been wonderful to be part of Brunswick and I will remember you in my prayers. Please pray for me too as I continue on the road to ordination.
With every good wish and many thanks for your kindness,
John
