These were words used to describe the funeral of ex-Brunswick church minister Martin Gooder last Friday in Bacup. There were around 150 people present, many of whom were Brunswick members past and present, all with stories of how Martin, with his wife Carol, had a positive influence on their lives. So, sadness at his passing, but good memories, joy at his certainty of eternal life and hope that it is on offer for anyone. Martin's farewell message on the back of the service booklet said as much.
