On Sunday we heard from – and prayed for – Millie Gatenby as she told us about her upcoming trip to Nicaragua.
"Hello all! For those who don’t know, on June 2nd I will be flying to Managua, Nicaragua in Central America to volunteer with a local development non-profit organisation called CEPAD. CEPAD is a Nicaraguan Christian organisation focusing work on helping communities and individuals to be the principal actors in their own development.
The work of CEPAD revolves around education, helping people develop the tools they need to sustain themselves and their families. CEPAD walks alongside rural communities using a variety of programs in sustainable agriculture, leadership training and economic development to find local solutions to local needs."
Millie has costs to cover whilst in Central America (travel, accommodation, living and vaccinations) and also wants to donate to the families, projects and communities she'll be working with and would appreciate any donations to help.
